Friends of Boyd Fulfill Wish Lists in June

The volunteers from our Boyd’s Closet had a lunch meeting on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 to discuss disbursement of funds to departments within Boyd Healthcare Services.  Each department is encouraged to create a wish list throughout the year, and submit it to the Friends of Boyd before their semi-annual meeting.

The volunteers at Boyd’s Closet, aka Friends of Boyd, spend countless hours a week sorting, organizing, diplaying and pricing items to sell.  The items sold at the store have been graciously donated and purchased by the public. The prices set are always low, yet they yeild enough income each year to give back to the hospital.  Since Boyd Hospital is a non-profit, critical access hospital, funds are often low when it comes to the smaller items that departments need or want.  Friends of Boyd are always happy to accomidate the wish lists that individual departments provide them on a annual or semi-annual basis.  The receiving departments are always grateful to these men and women for the time they put in to Boyd’s Closet and the care they have for our hospital.

The meeting that recently took place was extremely beneficial to several of our departments.  Boyd’s Closet was able to designate approximately $10,000 to purchase multiple items from the lists.  Eleven departments in all will receive a multitiude of supplies, equipment and educational material from this disbursment.

If you would like information on how to become involved with Friend’s of Boyd, or would like to donate items of your own, please call Boyd’s Closet on Thursday’s or Friday’s 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at (217) 942-6946 ext. 1600, or stop by and visit!
