BHS COVID-19

March 18, 2020 | Posted by Community Relations

Boyd Healthcare Services understands there is community concern regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We have been and continue to take necessary action and precautions to protect our community and to be prepared for a possible influx of patients.

At this time, we are asking anyone with the symptoms of the virus to stay home, and self-isolate to minimize contact with others. Symptoms include cough, chest congestion, sore throat, difficulty breathing and fever. If you have a res...piratory emergency, chest pain, or are in active labor, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

The Illinois Department of Public Health has developed guidelines as to who should be tested. For any questions regarding COVID-19 you should contact the IDPH hotline at 1-800-889-3931. The IDPH website also offers information on home care treatment.

If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19, or have certain conditions that cause immune compromise, we suggest that you contact Memorial Health Services in Springfield to be screened and sign up for the drive-thru testing if indicated. The number to schedule is (217) 588-4019.

To further protect our community, all non-sick visits through our Rural Health Clinics will be handled over the phone by mid level providers.

No visitors under the age of 18 and only one visitor per patient will be allowed in the hospital until further notice.
